Hello and Welcome to The Reignited Project!
I’m Jen Rivera, Founder and President of The Reignited Project.
Before The Reignited Project became a nonprofit organization, it began as my personal mission. As a survivor, investigative podcaster, and advocate, I’ve spent years working alongside families impacted by trauma, loss, and injustice. Through that work, I saw a need for more than awareness—I saw a need for action, education, and genuine support for those navigating life’s darkest moments.
That mission became deeply personal when my own family faced a missing persons case. Walking through the uncertainty, fear, and heartbreak of not knowing fundamentally changed me. I experienced firsthand the gaps families face—the lack of guidance, the emotional toll, and the overwhelming responsibility placed on loved ones to advocate while grieving. That experience reshaped how I show up for others and solidified my commitment to ensuring no family has to navigate that journey alone.
As a military spouse of nearly 20 years and a mother of four, I understand the resilience it takes to endure prolonged stress, loss, and uncertainty. My personal and professional experiences have taught me that healing is not linear—but even in the ashes, there is still light. The Reignited Project was born from that belief: that hope can be reignited, voices deserve to be heard, and meaningful change can begin when compassion meets action.
My Journey to Reignited Media & The Reignited Project
Before stepping into the nonprofit world, I spent more than 16 years as a senior-level marketing professional in the corporate sector. While my career was successful, I felt a deep pull toward more meaningful work—work that created real impact.
In 2018, I followed that calling and founded Reignited Media, a media company focused on storytelling, advocacy, and purpose-driven production. I began working with entrepreneurs and podcasters, helping them bring powerful stories to life through thoughtful strategy, branding, and storytelling.
During this time, I launched The Unseen Truth, an investigative podcast focused on unsolved cases and missing persons. That project opened the door to deeper work with victims’ families and survivors and allowed me to see firsthand how storytelling could serve as a catalyst for awareness and change.
In 2024, I co-founded Fire Eyes Media with my friend and business partner, Jules Thorp. Together, we built a women-owned production network committed to ethical, victim-centered storytelling. Through Fire Eyes Media, we’ve worked to amplify voices that are too often overlooked—setting a new standard for empathy and integrity in the true crime space. As my work evolved, so did my mission. I became dual-certified as a professional life coach and grief coach, combining my media background with trauma-informed advocacy. That convergence of storytelling, education, and healing laid the foundation for what would become The Reignited Project.

The Reignited Project: From Vision to Reality

While my professional experience gave me the tools to build platforms and reach audiences, my personal journey as a sexual assault survivor and victim advocate gave this mission its heart. I’ve sat with families searching for answers, stood beside survivors reclaiming their voices, and walked my own path through grief. I know how isolating that road can be—and how powerful it is when someone walks it with you.
The Reignited Project was officially founded as a nonprofit in 2025 to turn that mission into action. What began as a movement is now a structured organization built around four branches that serve distinct but connected purposes:
🐝 The Hive – The heart of our community, where compassion becomes action through outreach, volunteerism, and advocacy
🧭 The Compass – Our educational arm, providing trauma-informed training, programs, and tools for families, advocates, and professionals
🔥 The Ember Collective – Our alliance network connecting creators, organizations, & mission-driven partners through media collaboration, campaigns & storytelling initiatives
🌊 Shores of Strength – Our direct support arm for families of the missing and murdered, offering digital tools, advocacy resources, and awareness campaigns
Each branch reflects a different part of our mission—but together, they form a united effort to create meaningful change.
Our nonprofit work also includes The Healing Reignited Podcast, a weekly show that offers education, inspiration, and real conversations around grief, healing, and mental wellness. It’s one of many ways we’re bridging awareness and action through storytelling.
Why The Reignited Project Matters
The Reignited Project exists because no one should face trauma, loss, or advocacy alone. Our mission is to equip survivors, families, and advocates with the resources, education, and community they need to create lasting change—personally and systemically.
This work is about building a trauma-informed future rooted in compassion, accountability, and collective strength. Through The Reignited Project, we’re connecting families to resources, educating communities on trauma-informed practices, and partnering with organizations that share our vision for change.
Every story shared, every workshop taught, every act of advocacy contributes to something greater: a world where survivors are believed, families are supported, and communities are equipped to respond with empathy and understanding. I’m honored to lead this work alongside an incredible team and community of advocates who believe that together, we can transform pain into purpose—and hope into action.
